I’m running the New York City Marathon with my brother, John. He is a former Army Ranger. We were struck by the life story of Sgt. James Regan. Like him, we grew up in Long Island. It is an honor to run for Rangers Lead the Way Fund and make a positive difference for the families of Army Rangers. On a personal note I’m both inspired and daunted by the challenge of training for the marathon. I’m 44 years old and successful in my life, but I still find it very hard to achieve a feeling of balance. Before I raised my hand to run the marathon I definitely felt I was struggling a bit. Work time and home life didn’t feel in balance. Eating/drinking and a healthy lifestyle didn’t feel in balance. I’m discovering that my training is kind of like “hitting the reset†button. I actually feel that I’m discovering my balance as I go. Being able to share the experience with my brother, who is 10 years younger than me, and also my Mom, who is 24 years older than me, is a real gift. Thank you.
